I have a really old camcorder and upgrading to a newer version is to hard for kids these days and me and my friends like making videos and posting them on youtube and I know about the video input device but i need to know the exact name all i know about the device is that it has the red, white, yellow cords that connect into the camcorder and the usb port to plug in the computer so what i need to know is where i might find one of these and what kind of software i would need to record off of the tape

  1. you need to get a tv capture card for your pc.

Try searching for happaguel (those guys make loads of them).

You should be able to do what you want to with everything that comes in the box - cables, software instructions.

Cost - anywhere between £15-£40 ($30-$80) should get you what you need.

  2. http://www.altoedge.com/usbcapture/index...

  3. buy a fire wire cable and make sure- because best buy associates are a little rushed in fixing problems so they hand you the quickest solution- that it fits your camera, and works for your computer.

It helps to have Windows Movie Maker and you can go to file and capture with device or you can get a different program that supports what you're looking for.
