  1. I have had mine for around that time too. I talked to them smoothly. Gave them food and water.  ( Fresh Everyday,)  And i let them fly around my room. Place your finger near there stomache and they should step on. Also mine try to bit. but it don't hurt. also try and train them not to bit you.

  2. Airfare has the best advice, except taking them outside on your shoulder. Anything can frighten your bird. It may fly away never to return. PLEASE never take you bird outside on your shoulder.

  3. Let them nip at you.It won't hurt.

When they are perching, Put your pointer finger under their belly and they will perch on the finger.

  4. I will sit in the bathroom with my bird on the floor and let him get to know me and get comfortable with me. Every so often I would try to get him on my finger by gently cooing and coaxing him onto my finger by placing it under his belly but not shoving it under him to force him to step up. If you have treats use them by placing them in your hand while you try to coax him onto your hand. During this time, he will try to bite and peck at you but if you ignore it (mostly it doesn't hurt too much but sometimes when they're mad, it'll hurt a lot) he'll see it doesn't affect you and stop doing it altogether. You need to do this on a daily basis or he'll just forget it and you'll basically have to start from scratch again. You also need to do it with one bird at a time and separate them if you have more than one because what you're basically doing is trying to get your bird to bond with you and if they're with another bird they'll bond with each other and not you.

I have a lot of sucess with this technique, I've tamed all my parakeets in this way and I can walk around with them on my shoulder outside and they won't even try to fly away...um, don't try that unless you're 100% positive they won't fly away. :)

  5. try to get its confidence calls it name to and if it get closer keep calling it name and soon it will b right beside your hand then try getting it gentlely

  6. You need a proffesional trainer.

  7. I almost got parakeets until I heard they bite. I had 1 when i was six and parakeets are very nippy. So youd have to train them.
