  1. If my kid wrote out a business plan detailing the benefits and plans for graduating I would be more inclined to let them do this for their self. You can find ways to write a business plan below.

  2. There is truth in the statements that you can't run away from your problems.  To the answerer who asked about poor working conditions....  Sometimes you DO have to endure a position or job that you don't like just because you have to....  More people in the world do not enjoy their jobs as opposed to those who do...  you can't just up and quit when things get hard....

However, if you have ailments that are making going to school as difficult as it seems, then you need to do your research.  Home schooling has to be a family effort, it is not something that one member can be devoted to while another isn't....

  3. Mike, they won't let you go if you asked them a thousand times. They care about your social life and want you to experience school like most kids do. If you want my two cents here it is, cyber school is really not that different from public school. The only thing I can say is to suck it up and deal with it. Our parents had to deal with pretty much the same problems. A twitchy knee is really not  a good reason and will NOT help matters.

  4. What I think you might try is gather facts.  Talk about your desire without emotions.  Start by making lists of pros and cons of public school and cyber school.  Do your homework, research the options available in your state.  Find out if there is a way to meet or talk to someone about cyber school.  My girls are in a virtual school, and it is the right choice for us, but that does not mean it is right for everyone.

At a high school level, you have to be extremely motivated and work hard.  If you really feel you can do that after finding out more of what it would take, then try talking to your parents.  If you can present your wishes as a responsible soon to be adult, you may be surprised.

    Good luck!

  5. You need to start dealing with reality because when you're an adult you can't just stay home because you want to get out of it.  Whatever it is that you can't stand about public school needs to be addressed with your parents and/or a school counselor.  There are solutions for nearly everything, but it is not a solution to hide.

  6. Yes, I agree you need to focus on the facts.  Make a list of reasons you believe homeschooling will benefit you.  Find out your state's homeschooling laws, how you plan to conduct school, what type of materials and schedule you would follow, etc.  Then go to your parents with that information and ask them if they will consider it.

Here's some info that will help you get started.

  7. Tell you the truth dude this is my first year being home schooled and its alot harder than you think I start my day between 7:30 - 8:00 and work till 3:00 with only one hour break. homeshooling is not an escape by no mean whatsoever it is way harder. It is flex-able but a pile of work

IF YOUR LAZY GET THAT THOUGHT OUT OF YOUR MIND

  8. I really worry about posters who are telling you to just deal with it, that is the way it will be in the real world.  This is ludicrous reasoning.  Are they willingly accepting abuse and poor working conditions and thinking that is the way all employees are treated?  I do not accept being treated that way, and would leave a job and get another where I was treated better.

Yes, you need to do some research. Find out what is available in your area, but realize that homeschooling is not the same as a publicly funded cyber school. That is fine, but realize you are essentially dealing with a public school, just at home. Homeschooling offers much more freedom, and I would recommend that much more than public school at home.

Good luck in whatever you choose, and remember, in the real world, you are responsible for your OWN life, and as such, you can change any situation until it suits you properly!
