How do i get my pc connected to my U.S. robotics router?

Ok I had to reinstall windows on my pc, so that means i had to redo everything and right now i am trying to get my pc connected to my U.S. robotics router. For some reason its not detecting it. Can someone help me. I tried calling dell but they suck i have to pay $40 to talk to an "expert".

First make sure your network connection is functional.  Check this out under device manager and load drivers that are missing.

Once this is completed, then enable the network connection.  Configure it to obtain an IP address automatically (I assume the router assigns LAN IP addresses via DHCP).  

Use command prompt to see if you have an ip address (ipconfig) and then ping the default gateway; if successful all should work.  If not successful, write back in a new question telling us exactly what you have done and we can help more.
