How do i get my ps3 to obtain the ip address automatically?

Hi i have a bt home hub butmy ps3 wont obtain the ip address automatically some people have told me that i need to change my ps3 to nat type 2 but i have no idea how to do this. And others say that i need to enable the dhcp server any help on what i have to do will be most grateful.
