How do i get my school interested in hockey agian?

this season is going to be the team's 10th anniversary but nobody really knows or cares about it let alone the team. Its first years were great, people knew about the team and its success and they went to games. Now nobody goes even with our star player who scored 5 or 6 goals a game for us last season. We even changed the up the logo and our jersey's and still no interest. My brother started this team 10 years ago and it did well and now I'm a senior and playing on the team how can i spark interest(if its even possible)? it doesnt help that my county doesnt recognize hockey as a sport, its just a club.

When u figure this out, let me know. We have the same problem. They announce basketball and football scores on the intercom after every game, but the only time we were mentioned was when we won a jv tourney. Honestly i think the only thing we can do is to put up signs like "come support your hockey team sunday at this rink" and pray for the best. Good Luck, Bro

you should definitely have a fundraiser. maybe a bake sale or somethin...who doesn't love food

you could also do things during intermission like chuck a puck or a 50 50 raffle to get everyone involved.

if they like it they'll tell people about it and hopefully more people will come!

Win.  come on dude last season did people go to Caps games when Hanlon was in charge and they lost every game or when Boudreau took over and they were winning.  No one wants to see their team get stomped let alone take time to see their school team get crushed.

Andrew....how awesome of you to care so much about your team's history.  

I would see if you can get the coaches approval to hold a promotion.  Have a fundraiser (like a car wash), and then use that money to have at-the-door give-aways....or have a drawing during intermission.  

Now for the players, the best way to spark interest is to stay positive.  Be a leader. NEVER be negative, and hopefully once you guy start winning some more games, then interest will flourish again.
