How do i get my spy sweeper to remove a virus?

I have webroot spy sweeper and i ran a sweep a couple of times and it found a virus and some spy ware. all of the spy cookies were quarantined but it keeps failing at quarantining the virus. how do i remove it? do i need another program, and if so, what is a good free virus removal program?

  1. Scan again with  your Web root in safe mode and try and  then attempt removal again.

    In general, Windows does not allow the deletion of files when they are in use. However, Safe Mode will only load a minimum amount of drivers and services to run Windows, giving  removal a better chance. Scan again and attempt to delete while your computer is in safe mode.

    To access Safe Mode, reboot then repeatedly press the F8 key at the first screen. The screen will look strange, but don't panic. This is normal in Safe Mode.  

    When finished removing that pest, reboot again to return to normal mode


  2. Spy sweeper removes Spyware, not Viruses. You need an Anti Virus program to remove Viruses.
