How do i get my surround sound speakers to work on my computer?

i plug in my speakers and only the front ones work how do i fix this?

i pluged the black jack in the black speaker slot

i pluged the green jack in the green speaker slot

and i pluged in the orange jack in the orange slot

how do i get all my speakers to work?

did you go to sound and audio devices on your pc,sometimes some of the sounds are muted and you have to check the box and un-mute them to work,i have windows xp pro and i have surround sound.
