  1. Spank him and explain that its not nice to spit unless it's outside in the grass. He is too old for that!!!

  2. Well I am not sure but one effective method for things I have found with my kids is every time I have to ask them more than twice they get a tally mark. Mine is usually used on school mornings for not listening. But you could do the same. every time he spits he gets a tally mark, and at the end of the day or whenever you choose, he owes you 10 minutes per tally mark. For my kids it is served right after school regardless if it takes up all their free time before homework etc. It is a great motivator if it is served at a "free" time.  I give my kids a chance to get them removed with exceptional behavior but I don't think I would for this. I hate spitting regardless of gender or age.

  3. haljepino peppers would work....

  4. i dont mean to sound harsh or anything , but he is 10 and that is the most nastiest and disrespectful thing to do to anyone. im a mother of 4 and if it were my situation i would pop my kid on the lips so quick the spit wouldn't have the chance to land yet! they got my point and i didn't have anymore problems!!!

  5. Everytime he spits, give him a spoonful of castor oil.

  6. slap him on the lips.

not hard, just a little pat.

catch him off gaurd, it'll make him jump. lol

even if it doesn't hurt him when you do it, it'll frighten him if you give him a pat on the lips.

  7. smack him on the lips not hard but whats wrong with spitting if its outside guys spit its what they do lol good luck

  8. Tell him that if he spits too much he will have no saliva to eat or drink so he will die. It works.

  9. take away tv or things he likes to do

  10. take some of his favorite privelages away. like video games. computer.... etc. if you must, by all means, give him a belt wack

  11. When he spits take something away, like tv time, dessert, something like that.

  12. it might be a phase

he also might see all the sports people do it if he is into sports...

talk to him and tell him it is gross and he should only spit if he has a good reason (don't know what that is)

he is 10 and a boy, don't be too hard on him

  13. Spitting is gross, plain and simple.  All those sports figures make me ill when I see them do it.  It sounds from your question that his spitting has become a habit and is the "general, spit out the side of your mouth spitting" with no necessary target.  From experience with my kids, I have found that if you want a behavior changed you have to be clear about what has to change and why.  When they don't adhere to your rules, I don't just take items away, I make them do work as well.

When you take away a privilege, kids start to think in terms of, "well... I'll get it back eventually, let me do something else that will entertain me."  Once you introduce labor, it's quite a different path.  He spits, you take something away AND then you make him do an extra chore that he normally wouldn't have to do... like washing the toilet.

Also, see if any negative influences like a spitting dad or boyfriend play a part.  Like father, like son.  lol

  14. tell him it is illegal and punishable by law, mostly true in lots of cities

  15. every time he spits, you should take a privilege away.

If he spits- no dessert, if he spits, no video games, if he spits, no TV...etc....

If it continues...put him in the backyard, or outside....people don't spit inside (if that is the problem) if he wants to spit, he can go outside....

  16. Is he spitting on people or just outside somewhere? If he's spitting on people, that's disrespectful and you need to discipline him. If not, then let him be. People need to spit sometimes.

  17. call cesar milan......aka the 'dog wisperer'

  18. My three year old cousin is having the same problem. If he is spitting at you, that is wrong. Tell him that if he spits again you will put dish soap in his mouth. And if he does spit, put dish soap in his mouth and then sit him in the chair for ten minutes. That is what my aunt is doing and it is working wonders. My cousin has stopped spitting.

  19. tell him spitting is not allowed, it is disgusting and you wont have it! You are the parent.

  20. get supernanny! hey, it's a possibility...

& you can be on tv!

  21. Spank his butt...that problem will be solved quickly.
