Question:

How do i get my tortoise to eat its new food?

i have a baby sulcata and i feed it zoomed grassland food and it doesnt eat that much of it. when i mix it with a little bit of lettuce it just pics out all the lettuce to eat. should i just continue feeding it zoomed and eventually it will get used to it ?

  1. Whatever u were feeding it before, mix it in. After a week or so, cut down on the old food. Every day, decrease the amount of old food. He will get used to it. You should always put fresh food in a different area.


  2. Feed it a proper diet, which would be almost no pellets (they really are not very good for tortoises), and rather little lettuce.

    Sulcata Station is a great site for this very, very, VERY large species. (I hope you did your research!)

  3. set it in front of him  for a while and if he starts to eat gas and stuff like that is normal he has to get used to his new food
