How do i get my video cam to work?

the video cam is hooked up but i cannot get it online. what am i doing wrong

  1. Need more information:

    Camera manufacturer and model number; computer manufacturer, model numner and connection method (USB, Firewire, composite, RS-232, etc) used to connect the camera to the computer.

    Did you read the manual and follow the instructions?

    Are you trying to make the camera be a web cam or are you trying to upload video from the camera to the computer?
