  1. The very first move to trigger the downswing is turning and shifting your hips towards the target which immediately is going to place weight in your left foot.

  2. I am by no means a great golfer, but when I started I had the same problem- more of a baseball swing.  Until you get all the kinks worked out, try starting with the weight already on the front foot, that way there is very little transfer needed.

  3. Practice this at the range. After you hit the ball step forward with the swing, ala Gary Player

  4. Don't swing too hard.  The only time i ever "fall back" on my swing is when i try to put an extra something on the ball.  Try not swinging as hard and focus on turning at the hips.  Keep your lower body "quiet" and relatively in control.  Once you get your balance issues straightened out, you will start rocketing the ball.

Also what might help is if instead of trying to hit the ball on the upswing, try to get it on the downswing.

  5. lol

  6. try your stance a bit further apart and a natural even slower swing. keeping head down with eyes on the ball even after the hit following the ball.

  7. Start the dn swing with the left hip (if your r handed) by turning the left hip it will automatically transfer your weight at the right time and follow through at the target.

  8. maybe try widening your stance
