How do i get my xbox 360 in surround sound?

Im trying to get my xbox 360 and my HDTV in surround sound with this kind of surround sound system (Philips HTS3151D). I have tried everything and i can't seem to be able to figure it out!

just connect the audio out jack to the surround sound instead of the audio in on your tv...if that doesnt work then your either doing it  wrong or your speaker is busted.

your xbox should have a set up menu, i have a ps3 conected through the optical output then connected to the reciever and it works great and the surround sounds works too.

For surround sound you need to use either a fiber optic cable or the digital coaxial.  

DO NOT use the red and white cables, those are for analog stereo sound.  You also need to make sure that the settings on your Xbox are set for sending digital audio.  Also, the game you're playing may not support surround sound.

I tried looking up the model number you provided. I did not see the necesarry inputs for you to get true surround sound from you Xbox 360 or TV programming. All I saw were RCA and component inputs. It seems the best you can get is simulated surround sound.

First of all the game youre playing must support more than 2 Channels (stereo) Second you need a amp /receiver capable of providing surround sound to the speakers, and thirdly a connection such as a Coaxial Audio / HDMI / Optical (digital Audio)  to connect your 360

If you have it hook up to your TV it should work. Also look in the instruction manual from the stero then see how to hook it up. If the speakers don't work in general then return them it not your 360
