  1. hi, my wife used to work with kids with special needs(including needing a wheelchair) & she regularly took them horse riding & they all had a great time. some stables have specialist equipment to help you & the stable staff will help you. as others have suggested ring your local stables & i'm sure some will be able to help.#

p.s. you are braver than me , horses are ok for watching but i'm not brave enough to ride one & i used to play rugby!

p.p.s.my wife has just said  it's because i'm a wimp!!

  2. you would have to be lifted but i bet it wouldnt be a problem at all...........go for it enjoy life to the full

  4. Why not fasten the wheelchair to the back of the horse and trot along behind the horse, you will have invented a new sport - perhaps you could call it 'Trotting'.

  5. yes with help good luck.

  6. Get someone to help you.

  7. with determination and help; look in yellow pages for a stables which is part of the "riding for the disabled" scheme and take it from there

  8. The usual arrangement is that someone lifts you.  There is a type of hoist that you can operate yourself, but they are expensive and you need a lot of space at the stables to store it.

  9. some stables are equipped with hoists and ramps for wheelchair users, contact all your local stables and find out if any have these.
