  1. Netmeeting uses multiple ports and a UDP Multicast protocol  (H232 I think) which not all routers pass on.

Because of its multi port, multi stream features.. it doesn't travel well over the internet and is therefore usually only used internally on a LAN.

The ONLY way to easily get onto the School's network from outside is if A) You have rights to install software on a computer and B) If the school doesn't use some Disk Protection program like Deep Freeze or Microsoft's Steady State to undo any changes on boot up.

Other then that.. it would take some serious brute force hacking technigues to find and exploit an open port.  This level of hacking would be criminal and get you expelled.

IF they allow their students to install software, then you could simply install some remote control application like LogMeIn to remote control a PC on the School's network over the internet from home.

I seriously Doubt they would be so foolish as to allow this.

Lastly, if they gave you a Virtual Private Network connection then you could simply use your home PC to VPN into their network.  Even LESS likley then permission to install applications. Because a virus on your Home PC could easily infect their network.

Why not just use AIM or MSN Messenger to communicate.. why do you need access to their network?

  2. The most easy way is to ask the sys. adm at school if you can connect to the school network remotely via VPN or dial in, etc.

Otherwise, if you want to hack into the network, well, you could get into seriously trouble, I don't recommend you do it, but the idea is -- with a group of friend, someone at school open a port of your local network for the ones who are not in to connect it via internet.

Having say that, you can also propose to your school to provide them some services which (or find some good excuses) are required for you to have remote access.

    Good luck.

  3. ok first of all ive tried it and lets just say i got 10 day oss, I would not do it if i were you.  I took a program i got from the internet and downloaded it to the schools computer to access the password and the librarian found the program i downloaded and traced it back to me.

i was lucky i only got 10 days.

    So dont do it

  4. SORRY...It is possible but NOT LIKELY to happen:

Unless your School  Network Systems Administrator allow your home computer Remote Access.

    I'll bet a year's pay s/he won't do that.

    ^j^

  5. There is a way but you shouldn't. You can get in lots of trouble like sueing.
