  1. It's simple - you can't.  You need to see your doctor and get a script for anti-depressants.  You may also need to see a therapist.  The two work well together.

You may be suffering from a chemical imbalance or you may have reactive depression (from a traumatic or sad event that took place in your life).

If you do not bounce back from any trauma after six weeks go for help.

Life is difficult at the moment and many people are suffering from depression.

  2. Some people spontaneously come out of a depression while others need help.  Some ways to help yourself out a depression include exercise, medication, therapy, and sometimes even a different diet or fun routine will help you out.

  3. Amber M,  Well hon if it is a medical problem like two of my older sisters you will have to see a doctor. But first you should turn to Jesus Christ"who is the great physician"for comfort and guidence.

  4. There are a few options. The most obvious would be to talk to your parent or a therapist for help. Since therapists are professionals, they can help you legit. They may give you medicine or just provide someone to talk to.

You could also keep busy. Give yourself projects and tasks to do throughout the day so your mind can't wonder to upsetting things.

The way  I got through my depression was going away for a month. I met tons of new people who are now the best people I have ever met. They are my best friends and showed me waht it's like to be unconditionally loved. When I came back, I went to everyone of the people that I used throughout my year with depression to cope with my depression adn thanked them. They didn't quite understand what they had done, but I simply told them it didn't matter.

When I was depressed, I chased away my own depression with other people's lives and by doing this, I forgot about my own suck fest but also sprouted 'obsession's with people. I went away, met people who changed my life, and when I came home I had to thank the people who had helped me.

  5. i am overcoming depression by putting myself first

    nurturing myself daily

worrying about what i want and need then executing those ideas

also by surrounding myself with different more uplifting, interesting people

also get a hobby of something you love and do it

    good luck!

  6. Well, for some people, getting over depression is as easy as going for a walk every day. Seriously. Exercise releases endorphins, the "feel-good" chemicals in the brain. Some people need therapy and antidepressants, some people need time in a hospital where they can get specialized help.

Only you know if there is something from your past causing your depression, or if it's just something that happened, without any real "cause". I would suggest talking to your doctor and discussing your options. Your regular medical doctor may have some suggestions.

  7. This is the three pronged approach:

    1. self help (read Dr.David Burns, etc)

    2. medication

    3.therapy

They are most effective when used together for 6 months or more. This combination has been shown to HEAL the brain.
