  1. just get on it and be scared later.  i'm scared of heights and i've jumped out of a plane before.  i just made myself do it.  the fear will always be there but that's part of the fun.  turn your fear into fun.

  2. sit in front seat, then in back seat.

Just do it, go with some friends.

You won't get hurt [as long as you follow instructions (keep hands in at all times)]

  3. When you're waiting in line, don't think about what you're about to do, and try not to look at the coaster. Stick with some friends or family, and try to laugh a lot.

You'll never know if you like it until you try. The first time is always the scariest. (:

Have fun, and maybe I'll see you there! xD

  4. Tell yourself you have to go!  I used to be horrified of roller coasters until I tried one.  It was AWESOME!  I'm hooked now and can't wait to ride the next. :)

  5. Make sure that you are going with someone who won't make fun of your fear.  Let them know ahead of time that you are scared of the bigger coasters but you want to give them a try.  Most of the coasters have long lines so it will be a challenge for you to deal with the nerves you will experience in line.  Have whoever you are with be positive for you while you are in line, and watch the coaster run as you wait in line and see how much fun everybody riding it is having - and notice that no one is getting hurt.  And remember that you always have an out - when you get to the front if you just can't do it, most coasters have a spot where you can just step to the side without people really noticing and not ride.  If you can make yourself go on one - you will be fine with the rest.  Trust me...I used to be afraid too.  And now I love roller coasters - except I am still afraid of the wooden ones.  I went on one at 6 flags and I hated it - but that's okay...I just don't go on that one even though I will stand in line with my friends while they wait to go.

Good Luck - You'll be fine!

PS - don't sit in the front - the middle is the best place for new riders!

  6. If you just get on excpecting to have a good time, you will.

  7. I was TERRIFIED of roller coasters for the longest time. Then when i went to camp, we ended up going to six flags and my friends (1 who I'd known for years and another that I'd just met) convinced me to get on some pretty big ones. BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! I would say sit in the middle seats somewhere cause its always a little less freaky. oh and its ok to be the loser who screams like a maniac before you even get to the top. =DDDD  let your friends know you're a little freaked and they'll help you through it. hey, maybe they'll scream ahead of time with you. helps to relax a little. HAVE FUN!!!

  8. just close your eyes for the first time and then you won't be scared, you'll actually end up loving all roller coasters

  9. go with some friends. =) dont go with people who wouldnt want to go on them.

you only live once just go for it =)

  10. ahhh i hate roller coasters but i still go on them! if they are really scary I just close my eyes and scream the whole way! lol I have yet to find a way to actually enjoy it. I find it worse when I open my eyes !!

  11. The only way to end your fear is to face your fear. Just ride with a good friend and hold on tight to the handlebar until you get the courage to raise your hands in the air. I used to have a fear of loops but the first time I rode a coaster with three loops my fear completely vanished and now I love roller coasters with loops the most.

  12. Like I did. Until the beginning of summer, I only rode kid rides. I'm 15.

We went to Magic Springs, and I did my usual routine of riding trains, wooden rollercoasters, and the like. We were about to leave, and although I'm terrified of roller coasters, I knew I would regret not riding this big yellow one called the Gauntlet. I pushed myself to get on, up until it was ready to get on I believed that I would turn around. But I just pushed myself. You oughta live while you can, right?

And I went to six flags this past weekend.

I rode the Titan, Mr. Freeze, Batman, Superman, and others, without hesitation. [except for Mr. Freeze, but when I got off, i immediately wanted to go again]

Just push yourself. Make yourself get on. You won't regret it.

Just make yourself ride one big one, and you'll want to ride the rest.

i used to be so scared of rollercoasters too.. and that's what my dad would always tell me..

it's all psychological, if you can talk yourself out of being afraid, because there's really nothing to be scared of.. you can relax and enjoy your ride
