  1. You can sand it off. Or if it is a small bit of paint that got on a piece of decent furniture by mistake, use steel wool to carefully remove it.

Sometimes they burn off paint with a torch for large outdoor projects.

  2. I've used Soft Scrub. It removed paint from my oak trim, which I had gotten it on by mistake.

  3. You can sand it off.  Use an electric sander for this, and make sure to wear a face mask and protective goggles.  It's hard work and takes awhile.  I recommend the paint remover approach.  It's not very "green" but it's very effective.  You have to do the paint remover caper outside because of the hideous fumes.  Alas, life in never perfect.

  4. I personally haven't used it but I do know some people who prefer a heatgun.  They look kinda like blow dryers.  It blisters up the paint just like paint stripper and you scrape it off.  You can get a pretty good one for $20-$30.
