How do i get people on my blackberry messenger?

everytime i go to add a contact to my blackberry messenger.

it wont work.

how do i do it.

The first thing you have to make sure of is that you have a BlackBerry data plan, as well as the person you are trying to add. If they don't, then it won't work.

If you both have a BlackBerry data plan, then add them by their PIN number. You can find your PIN number by going to Options > Status on the BlackBerry. Once you have their PIN, follow the steps below to add the person:

1. Go to BlackBerry Messenger, press the menu button or track wheel, then select Add a Contact.

2. You will be taken to the address book. Scroll to the top and highlight the entry that says [Use Once]. Press the menu button or track wheel, then select Request by PIN.

3. Type in the PIN number, press the menu key or track wheel, then select Continue.

You will then see a prompt of the message that will be sent to the other user. Click to continue.
