Question:

How do i get pictures from my blackberry 8100 to my computer?

I have the usb cable plugged in and i can't view it through my computer. I can see the drive but can't explore it. Any ideas?

You need to install the blackberry desktop software that came with your device or you can download it from www.blackberry.com.  The newest version is 4.3 and it has a program on it called the media manager.  Make sure when you install the software that you select the installtion for the Blackberry internet service and NOT enterprise or redirector service.  This software program lets you synch all your contacts, calender, tasks and memos as well as do backup and restore, in case something ever happened to your blackberry.  You also use this program to load applications onto the device.  

    Once you have the software installed you plug your device in and make sure you click on tools>then connection settings>and switch the drop down box from none to usb.  Once it says that you are connected at the bottom of the blackberry desktop screen you will be able to click on the icon for the media manager, it will show you a split screen, one for your device and the other for your computer.  At that point its just a matter of clicking and either selection move or copy from one to the other.  This is also how u would transfer music files.  If you have a storage card it will give you the option to transfer from that as well.
