  1. Make sure you bring your p***s. There is no way that you can "get prepared'. And it will most likely be awkward. This is just one experience you have to face in your life.

  2. It likely will include checking your  weight, height, blood pressure, heart rate and the physical exam, but they may not have the resources to discuss other important health and safety topics. And if they do find a problem, such as a heart murmur or hernia, you will likely have to see a Pediatrician for further management anyway.

Wherever the exam is done, according to the American Heart Association, some key features of the exam should be:

a complete medical history and physical examination, including a blood pressure check

precordial auscultation (listening to the heart) in both the supine (laying down) and standing positions

Important parts of your  history that might indicate he is at risk of having health problems while playing sports include:

having symptoms while exercising, including chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue or syncope/near-syncope (fainting)

having a heart murmur or high blood pressure in the past

having other family members with a 'history of premature death (sudden or otherwise), or significant disability from cardiovascular disease in close relative(s) younger than 50 years old or specific knowledge of the occurrence of certain conditions (eg, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, long QT syndrome, Marfan syndrome, or clinically important arrhythmias)'.

Sport's physicals do have the benefit of being convenient, with many schools bringing a doctor to the school to do the exams, and they are often less expensive than seeing your Pediatrician, however, if you have the opportunity, a full visit by your Pediatrician may be better than a quick sports physical. Also, if you live in a state that does not require a yearly preparticipation physical exam, you might want to see your Pediatrician before you play any sports anyway, especially if you have any of the risk factors mentioned above.

  3. Well, you don't really prepare for a physical. Anyway, even if you wanted to prepare, you can't prepare in a short time span. All in all, a physical isn't all that awkward. There will, though, be a point where the doctor will want you to pull down your pants and check your private area. It may seem weird, but the doctor has down it hundreds of times so there is no reason to feel awkward at all!

  4. Unless you have reason to believe you have STDs, then he won't be checking for it unless you tell him. He'll check your testicles and pelvic for any abnormalities and hernias along with the regular check-up things. The adolescent clinic is intended just for teens with problems and wanting check-ups. The doctor will be gentle and anything you need to know before he begins, ask and he should answer. Hope this helps.

  5. where clean boxers dude. i just had a sports physical at a teen clinic they didnt test for stds.the doctor was an old dude so it was akward. when he came in the exam room he made me undress down to my boxers, he did height weight eye chart the i had to sit on the table he checked eyes ears throat bp listened to my heart checked my knee reflexes the had me lay down he took my socks off checked me feet had to pull up push dpwn on his hands then he felt my stomach pushed in a few diff. places. he then pulled my boxers down past my knees he felt my balls and felt my p***s looked in my pee hole he did ask if i was sexualy active when he was checking my dic i told him no. then had to stand in front of him and he pushed in on my balls with his finger and he told me to cough then had to look the other way and cough again. then he told me to get dressed, it was embarrising but i got thru it.

  6. They just want the basics like when my daughter started doing volleyball at her school. blood pressure and pulse, etc. Health history. They just want to know if you are healthy enough to not pass out on the ball field. If you had a physical at your normal clinic in the last 2 years you should have your parents ask if that can be faxed over as sufficient info. It was the first time my daughter did it.

  7. Regardless of whether you potentially have an STD, there's no reason, and therefore unlikely, that you will be tested for an STD.  If you are concerned that you have one, I urge you to seek your father's help and get tested.  Otherwise, there won't be much difference between your sports physical and your previous one's.
