How do i get ready for high school baseball?

i am 13 and my dad keeps saying I'm not ready for high school baseball. so i want to prove him wrong what should i do to get ready for a high school level.

practice, and goto the batting cages a lot because the average speed in my HS is 75mph, just junior varsity, but the varsity is 85- 95mph.. pretty fast.

You need to have your arm and body ready, visualize yourself hitting in the mirror. Also find a friend to catch with so you are sharp when tryouts start. Good Luck.

Run, light weights (not too much weight at your age), playing catch with friends (work on accuracy/technique - don't start throwing curve balls until you are 16 (I know it sounds kind of old but it is much better for your arm), many work out with medicine balls, buy a tee and start hitting balls off that, go to the cage and have peope throw you pitches to work on your swing (is much better than going to a batting cage - more realistic), watch baseball on tv (can learn from the professionals and learn to play the game the correct way - for example hit the cut-off if you play outfield, know when to bunt, and so on).

Simple...practice everyday 3 hours minimum. Also you have to elevate your competition if your 13 play with people that play high school ball or older. Run a couple of miles everyday and when that gets to easy increase the amount an try to shorten the time. An most importantly don't give up.

You practice. Over and over. Ask him to show you techniques/skills.

Get him involved. Could be a little bonding for you both :)

speed. Speed gets you noticed. Run every day for like a mile (should only take you 6-7 minutes).

Also can you give more info? What about you is not ready? Are you a pitcher, catcher, 3rd baseman, outfielder??? Do you not bat well?
