How do i get rid of 12 gigs of un necessary duplicate files in my registry?what a ridiculous waste of space.?

mostly use my laptop for photo editing-everytime I look at a photo it copies it to the registry(?) is this just another vista "innovation" or just more Windows inefficency?

are you sure it is your registry

get a registry cleaner

I think you may mean Temp files if so download " Crapcleaner "

it will clean out all Internet cookies etc plus temp  and similar files
