  1. go to freecycle.org and click on the state and country you live in then join the group.

you can offer and want things on here it has to be free. read the rules and off you go. someone will replay to you and you guys set up a pick up plan.

  2. put it on the curb with a sign on it "free-runs good" and someone will pick it up.

put an ad on craigslist too.

  3. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/---------f... Place the name of your city in the  slot. I am sure there is a freecycle site in your city or maybe a dozen. I have 2 dozen in my town.

  4. www.freecycle.org

"It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and thus keeping good stuff out of landfills.

Membership is free, and everything posted must be FREE."

You could also post the refrigerator at www.craigslist.com if you are wanting to sell it.

If all else fails check with your local transfer station to see what their policy is for taking refrigerators.

  5. If you don't have anyone to give it to and want to set it out curbside, make sure the doors are removed, placed along side ot the "box".  The box should be in an upright position, which prevents an accumulation of rain and reduces the temptation for children wanting to play inside it. Some organizations will also accept those type of items for donations: SPCA Thrift stores; Salvation Army; many church thrift stores.

  6. Craigslist is great, you may even be able to get a little money for it.

And the best thing in the world is freecycle.org. They have a local one for every area. And it is connected with yahoo now as a yahoo group. All you have to do is go to yahoo groups, type in your city, town or area along with freecycle. And then just post it. The only guideline is that is has to be free. Someone who wants it will email you and you just give them your address, they will haul it and you no longer have to worry about it.

And you can also search for things you may need and browse listings of what your local neighbors are giving away as well.

    Its so wonderful!!!!

    Good luck!

  7. Open the panel in the back take small tubing cutters and cut any of the small copper lines while wearing gloves.Don't let any tree huggers see you they don't like it.Then take it down to the metal recycling yard they won't take it if you don't cut the tube.

  8. Call your local church or community service center and donate it, it will also be a tax write off at the end of the year.
