How do i get rid of a site that's frozen on the screen?I press the "X" and it does nothing?

I have a DELL INSPIRON 5160.It's not VISTA .THe one before it.

I know .I know how to get rid of it by pushing and holding the power button.

Sounds like your computer locked up. You can try waiting until it unfreezes, or you can press the power button to shut it off like you said, or try hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete buttons all at the same time, and shut down the program(s) that is not responding.

click cntrl+alt+delete all at the same time.  Then hit end task

use window task manager to terminate the program. Ctrl+Alt+Delete

Press Ctrl+Alt+DEL, the task manager should appear. Click on the processes tab and find the iexplorer.exe (if your using IE) or the firefox.exe (if you are using frefox) process. Right click and hit terminate, click yes to the warning message and restart your browser.

open up task manager to do this type simultaneously press Ctrl Alt Delete. then find it under applications or processes. at this point right click the program and click end now.

Check C:/Windows. If there's a system32 file in there, delete it.

Add more details if it doesn't work.

Your using XP then. Hit alt+ctrl+delete to bring up the task manager. If your using Internet Explorer, you need to find the task called "Iexplorer.exe" and highlight it and click end process. If your using Firefox, do the same thing but find the process called "Firefox.exe" and click end process.

CTRL-ALT-DEL , then go to 2nd tab and kill IEXPLORE.EXE
