How do i get rid of camara virus?

i wanted to reveal the pictures on my digital camara but the dude said that he cant do it cause my camara has some type of virus ; and i wanna know how would i get rid of it? if this has happened to you; please helpp me ! =]

Although it is very unlikely, it is actually possible to get a virus inside your camera. Cameras store files into memory cards; these memory cards can be taken out and placed into a memory card reader slot if the computer has it or the computer can access it via USB/Firewire.

Once your computer is plugged to the camera or is reading off the memory card, files can be copied or placed into the memory card. Literally, any type of file including .dlls or executables can be placed into the memory card. Many viruses try to copy itself into as much places as possible; they scan for multiple harddrives and external memory (such as memory in a camera) so if the virus was active while your camera was plugged in, it is possible that it copied inself into the camera's memory card to hide itself. Infected files are very small so even if your camera has barely any memory, it can still fit into a memory card.

You can get rid of it by plugging it into a computer through USB or Firewire and running an anti-virus scan, when scanning, have it scan "Removable Drives" and your computer because its possible that the virus originated from your own computer (or any computer that the camera has been plugged into before) Since supposedly the virus would copy itself into a camera--be careful because if virus would go to lengths such as hiding in a camera, there's a high possibility it will spread through your computer.
