  1. It makes me wonder if your house has too much water vapor in the air. If you can, try to get a dehumidifier and make sure you clean your house well. You may need more than one!

  2. As you know, mold can be a terrrible problem. It keeps growing, unless you find the source, and in damp environments, unless you run the air conditioner continuosly, yo will be likely to continue having the problem.. 10 percent bleach solution is the best way to clean existing mold. But I would also say, that if it exists on the carpet, even if you clean it, if the source of the mold still exists, it will keep returning. Eliminate all of the unnecessary things that are prone to the mold. Like excess stuffed animals, and find out if there are leaks in your home that need to be fixed. If the dry way has been wet and mold is forming, then the dry wall needs to be replaced. Get a professional in who deals in mold and see if they can find the source. Things that can not be cleaned, must be thrown away.

  3. The first thing you want to do is if the house sits off the ground, it needs a vapor barrier covering the exposed soil under the flooring. This is usually a thick piece of plastic. The next thing is to open up some air circulation under the house by either leaving the access door open or installing some vents around the perimeter.

Be sure there are no leaking water pipes or standing water under the house. Mold needs moisture, so maybe a way to remove excessive moisture by drying the air inside the home or have more moving air might just help you a lot.

  4. Keep windows open, even if it is cold so mold doesn't develop.  Use bleach on the source regularly to kill it and keep it from spreading and if you can move the h**l out of your place because if the mold is that bad you will likely get sick, from a bad cough to skin problems.

  5. It sounds like you need a mildewcide/fungicide/bactericidal application. Some of your stuff may already be ruined beyond where they can be reclaimed. When our family suffered some flood damage some years ago, we then had problems w/ toxic mold. All the carpeting and sub flooring had to be torn up and replaced. This was a big and not too fun job. We were told by the carpet cleaner (who wasn't making a dime from us, as he told us the carpet was beyond saving, there was nothing he could do for us) that after we we tore up the carpeting (and we then saw the floor was also damaged beyond repair) that we needed to spray the place with a product from Baneclene. I believe the product was Microban. This killed any remaining mold, and prevented its return. Its effectiveness lasts for months longer than bleach, the next best chemical. It also did not cause the extremely unpleasant fumes and discoloration bleach does. It worked great.

You also probably need dehumidifiers. Mold needs moisture to grow.

Check Baneclene.com  They are a bit pricey, but the stuff works.

  6. Dehumidifier. maby your carpet is wet. If it is throw it out.

    BLEACH BLEACH BLEACH.
