  1. OMGosh. What ever you do,do it at night when there sleeping.

  2. Attack the nests, first with insecticide, and then with a propane torch and a bat.  The recipe for hornet pie is to bake at 2200 F until very well done.

  3. find there hive and spray it with poison then walk away.

  4. If they are nesting in the ground, they are probably yellow jackets, a species of wasp. If they are in trees with paper mounds or hives they are probably hornets. For yellow jackets, find their entry and exit hole in the ground, they will all return to the nest at sun dow. Then take a pint or so of gasoline and pour into the hole. That nest will die almost instantly. If they are in the trees, raid or black flag makes a hornet killer that shoots a stream of insecticide about 30 ft. Get that stuff and wait until sun down again and saturate the hive. That should take care of your problem.

  5. hornet and wasp spray from home depot or lowes.. wal-mart..spray them good..then come back and remove the nests and toss them.be careful tho some wasps that were out of town at time of spraying may come home and not be to happy...keep can of spray close by

  6. use a hornet killer!!!

  7. Most everyone who answered this question so far is nuts.

It sounds like wasps if there are 20 mounds/nests.   Better wasps than hornets.

Never attack a large nests of hornets/wasps espically during the day.

Hornets are very aggressive and this is the time of year they thrive.

If it is a large nest with many hornets/wasps you can call an externimator.  If it is a wasp nest(s) then you can also attack them at night with a flashlight and wasp spray.  Someone hold the flash light and one person soak the nest and wasps with the spray.  That simple.

If it is a hornets nest I would let the exterminator handle it.

You can look up the difference on the internet.

BTW: hornets usually never come back to the same place year after year while wasps always use the same general area every year or even in the same year after you get rid of the nest.  FYI.
