  2. use neutrogena oil-free foaming acne-wash. im 15 and it got rid of most of my pimples. they dont sell it anymore here in america. im not sure about the UK though. if they dont, you can still order it from their website. its very good. i had  A LOT of pimples. my face looked more like an ant hill than a face. this stuff made all of it go away for a while. but then i got used to it and switched to biore blemish fighting ice cleanser. it was okay. but then i switched to biore pore unclogging scrub which is AWESOME. it smells delicious. (dont eat it though) proactiv didnt help me that much. hope i helped you :)

  3. I recommend using a tea tree soap bar twice a day. Then after apply Tea Tree Oil. It is natural and the oil is an antiseptic so it kills germs on your skin. It doesn’t dry out my face or clog pores. I have been using it for a few months and my skin is 100% different. Make sure you use it everyday. You will see results in a week. You can buy it at health stores and one brand I use is “Thursday Plantation”. It is about 15$. I highly recommend this practice. It really works and is good for your skin! :) Good luck

  4. See the link below for a really good introduction to what causes acne.

By far the best way to treat and prevent acne, aside from intense prescription medication (antibiotics, Accutane, etc.) is with benzoyl peroxide.  A large number of over the counter acne medications (Oxy, Clearasil, Proactiv) have benzoyl peroxide as the active ingredient (check the back label to see).  It essentially helps to keep your skin free of bacteria that can cause infection.  A very effective combination is to use a face wash that has benzoyl peroxide as well as a topical cream (assuming this doesn't cause too much skin irritation for you).  In fact, that's basically what Proactiv is.

You can also use a salicylic acid face wash in combination (maybe the benzoyl peroxide wash at night and salicylic acid wash in the morning).  If this combination starts to irritate your skin, however, you can remove this wash.

If you see a dermatologist, chances are they will prescribe you a combination of topical benzoyl peroxide (usually around 5%), a retinoid (see second link below) and possibly a low dose of a tetracycline antibiotic (see third link).

In my experience, however, it's the benzoyl peroxide that has the most significant effect, and you don't even need a prescription to get it--either in a wash or a topical solution.

The website Acne.org has a very detailed outline for a great acne regimen (fourth link).  I highly recommend you start there and really follow it for a few weeks before shelling out the money for a dermatologist and prescription meds.

    Best of luck!

  5. At 14, your skin is going to be like that, so try not to worry too much. When you go and buy your face washes etc, shop around and read the bottles to make sure the product is actually for your skin type. It might also help saving your money for a facial too.

  6. honestly, face scrubs and clay masks helped me out a lot. usually i use apricot face scrub, or a warming face scrub. try that plus a little clearsil. i heard that proactive stuff on tv works too.
