How do i get rid of my shin splints?

here's the thing. i think i got shin splints for no particular reason. but now as i exercise and stretch my shin splints just keep getting aggravated. it is also really hard to run. so what could i do to get rid of them?

  1. well you can't ever really get rid of them. but before you run you can stretch your legs out real good and put ice both before and after. that should help


  2. I got shin splints but it was from basketball, so I took a break for a few days and didn't do running drills and it got better.

    Also, there's a certain way to tape your legs to hold muscle, ligament, etc. in place but you would need a trainer that would know how to do it

  4. Fill a bucket with water and ice and stick your leg into this bucket for about 15 mins. Make sure the water doesn't go any higher than the bottom of your kneecap. Do this about 3 times a day for 3 days and your problem will be fixed. Shin splints are muscle tearing away from the bone, the ice water helps speed the recovery 5 times faster than just rest. Sprinters use this method religiously. Good luck.

  5. ice them and rest. nothing much you can do. but after your shin splints go away go out and buy good shoes with good inserts. inserts that are already in the shoe suck you need special inserts.
