today we had the flag hoisting in the morning before which I had my speech, and during which I froze on the stage, though I covered it up I was very embarrassed. What Should I do so I don't get scared on stage? I did prepare well for the speech.

  1. one word my friend: practice

practice more infront of crowds and people that you dont know intimately. when you say you practice, yes i belive you, but if it was to a mirror or your mum or your best mate, it can help, but it will not be as effective, if you practice getting out there and talking infron of people that you have no idea about. becuase most of the speeches and talking you will do in your life time, will be to people you have never met before, so it is essential that you practice alot

    good luck

  2. I know it might sound cliche but the only way to get over that fear is to keep getting in front of people and speaking.  The more you do it, the more confident you will become being in front of people in general.

Also, there is a little exercise you can do to help calm those nerves.  The nerves stem from the stomach.  So, it may help for you to do some deep breathing and tighten and release the stomach muscles many times in a row before you have to go out on the stage.

    Thanks for reading!

  3. Practise giving the speech in front of family and friends, or someone who will also be at the event., who can give you feedback on what is working and what is not. I don't know if this was part of your preparation.

Pick somebody who looks sympathetic in the crowd and address the speech to them. When you get confident enough, switch to someone else.

Yawning is Nature's way of telling your body to calm down, so this can counteract any nerves.

If you have a memory lapse, get the person you have been practising with to prompt you upon an agreed signal.

  4. don't think of anything except what you have to do.After all you know you can do what has to been done.We are all human and we all get nerves so don't worry just do what you have to and don't think to much about the crowd or audience. You can do it.

    all the best
