  1. If they are on the outside of your home, spray them with a mixture of dish soap and water, they will die instantly. If tyou want something less harsh - build bird houses to attract birds that will eat the beetles. And believe it or not there are beetle traps sold at various garden centers that will trap the beetles.

  2. Oh my gosh, I hate Japanese Beetles. We have a lot of them. We buy bug spray.

  3. If you go to your local DIY center (Lowes, Home Depot, even WalMart), go to the Garden Center and purchase Japanese Beetle Traps. They consist of a metal stake, several plastic "trap" bags, and a rose-smelling attractant (Japanese beetles LOVE roses). Place the traps AWAY from the problem infestation areas, the idea is to lure them away from where they are concentrated. If you have the mature beetles, this may be too late, but apply a lawn insecticide (granular or liquid) which advertises effectiveness against lawn grubs. Lawn grubs are nothing more than Japanese beetle larvae which feed on the roots of your grass. They look like fat white worms and can generally be found a couple inches below the top soil level.

  4. you bring in a japanese man to eat them

  5. Play a Yoko Ono song.

  6. The previous answer is correct, I have used the bags and sprays the last three years and this year we have ZERO beetles.  I HAVE DEFEATED THE JAPANESE BEETLES ONCE AND FOR ALL!  I believe there are no eggs laid, no grubs hatching, and no adults emerging at all this year.  HOORAY
