  1. Steam cleaning your upholstery is probably the most effective way to get rid of the smell.  Be aware, though, if she smoked a lot in the car, you may never be rid of the smell completely.

  2. I've used a product called Fridge-It for years around my house. It's a little purple cube activated carbon odor absorber that is really fantastic.   Then, I started putting a couple of these in my car and got rid of smell from dog and also previous cigarette smoker.  So, I recommend you give that a try.  I buy direct from company.  You can get order form from customerservice@innofresh.com   I now see that they have a carbon odor absorber made for cars called Innofresh AUTO.  Looks pretty good.  I'll be trying that too.

    That's what I do.

  3. Let it air out with windows down for a few hours.

  4. Try using an air con cleaning product. Place it in the air con and when you switch it on it'll spread the scent all over the car.

Also spray some odor eliminator around the upholstery and car, a great product is "Meguiars"!

  5. You got to clean the inside the car completely. I started with Reslove carpet cleaner/odor remover. After the carpet dried I used baking soda over night and vacuumed it up in the morning. Don't forget to clean the over-head either, smokes rises and will become dirty up there too. Make sure to clean the seats too smoke smell will also be in the seats. After that just use Febreez once everyday till the smell is gone. You can also use dryer sheets under the seats on the car to help absorb some of the smell.

  6. febreeze

  7. use some oust!, don't just cover up bad odors...OUST! THEM

  8. have your car detailed. have them wash and scrub all the upholstery.  make sure you or the detailer is careful when cleaning the head liner. if the head liner gets soaked with water and soap the make the glue let go of the head liner and the head liner will sag and look bad.

  9. gut out the inside of the car and then have the inside power washed. Then have a completely new interior put in it or buy a new car thats has all the toxic fumes coming out of the materials in the interior. One way or another your going to have smells in the car you drive.
