How do i get rid of this fire wall so i can get onto lime wire??

i shut down the fire wall that is standard with the computer but lime wire still wont work. there is no other programs on it that might block lime wire. its an old computer that i want to use for music. i dont know how to get limewire tpo work. it used to work b4 my friends gave his computer to me

In the main windows check to see if there is any internet activity detected by Limewire at all. You should see a graph with some grey noise-like data on it. If you can't, disable all AV and firewall progs (if you don't know which one you have then google the most popular ones and then check in all programs from start bar) and then close lime and open it again. Also do some research if need be on whether your ISP blocks these sorts of connections.

erase all the programs that u have , then just download limewire again...

i do not know if you have a mac or pc. ok if you have a pc. go to stat>control pad>security>fire wall off. Or dod you have any other security program on your computer. All so if you try off your firewall you are like living the doors unlocked to your car and the keys in the ignition and have the engine on.

You shouldn't have to remove your firewall for lime-wire to work. Your firewall should always be on.
