Microsoft doesn't have an antivirus program, it's from McAffe or Norton most likely.  Anyways, just go to Control Panel and then Add/Remove Programs, and find it on the list and remove it.

go to all programs and delete it.

start -> control panel -> add/remove programs

select the program, choose remove, follow onscreen instructions

should work, but removing any antivirus is sketchy

This will take about an hour.

Switch off System Restore - you can re-start it if you choose to when your computer is clean.

Install the free version of SUPERantispyware http://superantispyware.com Update it and run a full scan.

Install ccleaner http://ccleaner.com - run the ccleaner and the registry scans and delete what they find but repeat the registry one until nothing is detected.

Reboot and job done.

I'd also recommend you install a good anti-virus program like avast home edition http://avast.com

and another good anti-spyware program is spybot search and destroy http://safer-networking.org

Avast will take care of it.My friend had the same thing.He told me that it did the trick.It is rogueware.
