If you have a capture card on your laptop, then you would just have to play the program and re-record it on the laptop.

Some DVRs are based on the Linux OS. If that is the case with your Samsung TiVo (I don't know if it is), then it may be possible to remove the hard drive from the TiVo and mount it in a computer running the Linux OS. Then you could copy the files directly from one hard drive to another, or through a network. But that is a rather technically involved way of doing it.
