How do i get sims 2 nightlife to work?!?!?!?

So I installed the sims2 then sims2 family fun stuff, and then sims2 nightlife. Everytime I try to play nightlife it tells me to insert the nightlife disk, so I do. Then the white screen pops up saying sims 2 nightlife, like it should. After awhile though an error message pops up saying "You are not playing the right version of the sims 2, please insert family fun stuff CD." So I do and it works, but it doesn't show that I have ngihtlife or anything. I can't go downtown and I don't have any of the new stuff. What do I do?!?!?

Though EA may claim otherwise, you must install all Sims expansions in the order that they were released.

Your problem may stem from the fact that you installed the family fun stuff first.  The game works better if you install each game in the order it was issued by EA.  However if you've been playing and have gotten attached to some of your characters then you will be 'endangering' them to uninstall nightlife and funstuff and reinstalling them correctly.  Before you do you may want to get more educated (school of hard knocks) answers by going to the community bulletin board in technical support or even game play and ask your question there.  also make sure you've downloaded patches for your game in the help section.  This all happens at Sims2.com.  The users on there are great and have helped me many times.
