Question:

How do i get something on freecycle that somene is offering?

i would like an item someone has to offer on freecycle, i have emailed them twice but have not had a reply. am i doing something wrong?

  1. Freecycle recomends that a 'giver' waits 24 hour before offering to give everyone  (including charities) a chance to reply.

    They will get tons of emails all at once so when they think they've waited long enough they will choose the person that they think will benefit the most (or sometimes just the person at the top of the list).

    They will then email the person they chose, but people sometimes change their mind and don't ant it so it's no good telling all the others that it has gone yet as they need to keep you as a back-up list.

    Some people just don't respond to those that emailed them. Some allways send emails to people that have made requests.

    It's just a waiting game!  Allways make sure your request Email is polite and not too grabby and it will increase your chance of being offered the item.  I wouldn't try and follow it up.

    Just wait to see if you still get offered it and/or wait for a similar item to come up.

    You could allways do a wanted add!


  2. Maybe the item is no longer available and the forgot to post it as "TAKEN".
