  1. Dominate your local scene. Enter in local contests and you will get noticed. If you dont have any contests at your mountain, compete in all the contests at resorts nearby. Compete so much that people know you by name.

  2. go on the internet, buy a season pass to breckenridge, call a relative thats lives in colarado.  move to Colarado and become the best girl in the park at brecenridge.  if you dont get sponsord then, there is no hope.  but I think that you would get noticed there.

  3. enter many contests. chances are there will be a rep for a company there. try going out of state. Talk to people and reps. theyve got connections. Write to companies with a list of results and some pictures.

  4. You should try approaching local shops and see if they have a rider team. If they don't ask them if they want to start one. This is the first step besides doing all the competitions in your area. After your on a shop team you move up to riding for the rep and eventually the factory

  5. I don't know snowboarding in specific, but generally sponsorships are contracts between a company and a professional athlete; if you're just good at playing locally, it's probably going to be difficult to land any sponsorships.  You could try approaching related companies though; tell them what sponsorship would do for them (what kind of attention you get, how you would display the sponsorship, what they could expect to get out of it).  I would suggest asking for some of their products as your compensation -- likely it would be hard to get cold hard cash as a local amateur.  Expect to be turned down a lot -- like any other sales, you have to keep trying in order to get a sale.

  6. You might need to travel a bit to get sponsored.  It always helps to be seen riding at amateur or pro/am contests.  There are girl-specific contests that might be good.  Here is one that is not too far to drive to for you: http://www.girlsdayout.ca/schedule.html

Mount St. Louis has a two great terrain parks and hosts a number of events during the season, including the one linked above.  It is less than 4 hours drive from Port Huron, MI, so depending on where you live - it is likely a drivable.  There are lots of inexpensive motels in Barrie only 20 minutes away from the hill.

Second, get someone to photograph and video you riding.  Then put together a promotional video to send to the companies that you would like to sponsor you.  Good luck!
