  1. i love to surf too, and i have a few sponsers myself.  i got my sponsers by doing competitions, so i think you should try that.

  2. Surf companies know who is good and not they always have an eye out for talent. Sure if you surf contest you will be noticed, that can be both good and bad. The quickest way to be sponsored is through a local surf shop or board maker. But like anything to get sponsors means being very good at what you do. Don't worry about getting sponsors worry about surfing very well. If you do that you will have the sponsors chasing you. If your just trying to get free stuff, don't thats so typical and no cares for that behavior.

  3. the nicest way to get a sponsor is going to a comp. doing well and some one comes up a puts a board in your hand. but that's not always the reality. if  choke in comps. than just need to pull off the old sponsor me video. tape you self surf do some airs and show all your stuff and drop it off to all your local surf shops. alot of times they are looking for people to sponsor because it look good on them if you do happen to win something. well good luck

ps. maybe try to find a little company that's just starting up, that way if they make it semi big your on the wave with them!

  4. You want to get sponsorships but you don't like to compete? . . . buy some Knee pads !!!

  5. Competitions aren't the only thing that gets you sponsored, make a video of your surfing, show your tricks and everything, once you are satisfied with the video send it in to some shops and see what they say about it, ask if they would like to sponsor you, if you don't have access to a vid. camera, talk to the surf shop about being sponsored by them and tell them that you can't afford to enter competitions or access to a video camera, than ask if instead of sending in a video or entering a competition ask if someone could come out and see how good you are, if they like you they'll sponsor you, put on the charm too, that always helps.  Good luck!
