Question:

How do i get that smell out?

We just moved in this apartment and the back bathroom smell like cigarettes.They painted the walls and in the bathroom but that cigarette smell stink.How do i get that out?

  1. I agree with Amy.  You might put some baking soda around too.  And, believe it or not, you will get accustomed to it and won't smell it after a while.


  2. I would stick to cleaning with clorox clean-up or vinegar for a while.  Also, try to burn some candles for a while.  Cigarette smell is awful to get out.  It particularly sucks if you come from a smoke-free home.....

  3. Put a small fan in there and keep it running with the door and window open whenever possible.  Set a dish of water with a few drops of scent near the fan so that it gets circulated through the room.  Try a few drops of peppermint oil or spearmint oil, which would be a pleasant scent for a bathroom.  The fan is the key, tho, as you need the air circulation to get that stale cigarette air moved out of the walls and such.

  4. ~~Try setting a bowl of vinegar out on a counter for a few days. It removes fish odors very quickly, hopefully it will do the same for cigarette odors.~~
