How do i get the administrators password?

i forgot the administrators password to my computer and i need it to download files.

is there a way i can do it without losing any of my files

the computer automatically prints it inside the lid of the computer case.

simply remove the case and you'll see it imprinted on the lid.

If it is Windows XP or Vista, then there is absolutely NO WAY to get it back. If you lost your admin password, then you lost all admin rights to your computer. Its plain simple as that.

(Although there is a way to crack and access certain files from your hard drive without admin rights, but that will quite simply break your system and will render it completely useless. Trust me on this.)

Download Ubuntu, http://www.ubuntu.com/

Burn to CD

Boot into Ubuntu through Live CD mode

Transfer the files into your thumbdrive.

Works in most cases, for Win XP.

There is a linux boot disk that you can make that will reset the admin password for you.  It can be a bit technical, but the defaults will usually work, but read the instructions before using.  http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/b...
