How do i get the cap off of my toro gas-powered trimmer to replace the weedwacker line?

on my one its a left handed wing nut on the bottom

They're all different, but on mine, you squeeze two little tabs, then twist it off.

Check the user guide;  if you don't have one, call Toro or go to their website...

I had a heck of a time with mine, a Ryobi.  Eventually I had a relative look at it and he just unscrewed the k**b on the bottom.  I felt kind of silly, so try it, try unscrewing it.
