Ive found sites where they are free, but only if your school youve been attending pays for them. My school wouldnt do that. I want to attend Penn Foster but cannot afford it. I need to finish my education.

  1. The government will not pay for private programs like Penn Foster. Have you checked into K12 or Connections Academy? Both are free. And your school doesn't have to pay for them--you are considered a full-time student with that online school.

  2. I don't know what level you are looking for, but if it is elementary or high school level, you may be in a state that sponsors what are called "virtual schools."  These are public schools that provide the curriculum and materials for free, but you are schooled at home, with some teacher support (mostly by phone and email).

Look here, to see if you are in a state with the program:

  3. The government won't pay for private programs; that would be like them paying for you to attend a private school.  K12 is available for free in some states, as is Connections Academy; otherwise, it is entirely possible to pull together your curriculum for free (or darn near) through the library, internet, and used books.

  4. Get a job. it is not the government paying, it is tax payers dollars. Look for scholarships and try an actual university.
