How do i get the headset where i can talk and listen to pit crew working on ps3 nascar 09?

i got the headset but i dont know how to get it to work.. there is no optios for it on the main menue but the box for the game says that it can be used on the game.

I don't know on the ps3 but I have the ps2 and I don't have to press any button to use the headset

Go to system settings, 2nd option from the left on the PS3 menu and go to accessories, make sure the headset is paired up with the system.
