  1. okay nerd, all u have 2 do is... get a life!

  2. I ride both dressage and hunt seat and learned something from your question.  I've been taught, at least in hunt seat over fences, that the horse should be practically "on the bit" (the roundness of his back making him use his hind end for impulsion and it is the hind legs that should be the ones that push off for the jump).  But, I did some research and it looks like in certain classes they are looking for the long and low headset that you appear to want.  The only time I've used this in a show is in a pleasure class. This site has some exercises you can use to achieve it: http://www.horseadvice.com/horse/message...

Also, check out question 8 below:

A lot of these sites stress that in determining the appropriate head set for any horse, you have to take into account the horse's conformation.

  3. buy them

  4. The horse in you picture has an english pleasure headset not a hunter head set. Sometimes it is used for inhand classes but i havent seen it too much. I compete in hunters and everyone always tells me that the judges want a more round headset than the regular pleasure headset so if you are going in the hunter direction then I would teach your horse a more round headset. Hopefully that helps.
