How do i get the molar mass of diatomic elements?

for example is oxygen. if i have O2, is the molar mass 16 or 32?

  1. The molar mass of diatomic elements is determined the same way as for any other assemblage of elements. You sum up the individual atomic masses. There is NO allowance for duplication; each atom counts! Thus, 2*16=32.


  2. its 32, because there are two of them. it doesnt matter that its the same. it matters the weight of the molecule, and there is 32 units of mass in the molecule.
