  2. I used borax this week to get rid of odors.  On the side of the box it tells you how to treat this kind of problem.

  3. Help may be at hand, squeeze a little lemon into a cup add water.stir, make sure its not sticky and then with a small Cooking)paste brush, brush on, you may have to pour some down where you can not get to...............try a tester spot first.

  4. Short of buying a new sofa, this is going to be a tricky one. You've already said that the area is difficult to reach but you'll have to get to it somehow to get rid of the smell. Have you tried things like Febreze or Oust sprays? Would it be possible to turn the sofa on its back and carefully open the base cover up a little in order to get some fabric freshener onto the stained area? At least the base wouldn't be seen in normal use and you could stick or sew it back up again. I do sympathise with you. Someone I know lent their car to a friend once and the friend spilt a pint of milk in the boot. Phew! It was really bad and when she thought she'd got rid of the smell there'd be a warm day and the smell would come back! I do hope you have better luck with your sofa!

  5. Sprinkle all of the area with bicarbonate of soda, leave it for a while and then vac as much of the area as you can, the bicarb will absorb the smell.
