How do i get the stench of beer out of my wooden table?

My wooden table seems like it has beer soaked in it and no matter how many time i use 409, the smell stays. What could i use to remove the smell?

  1. You said it is a wooden table with the smell of beer, I can only assume that a table that would have so much beer spilled on would be outside. If that is correct and it is redwood, use a redwood cleaner and reseal with a penetrating sealer. If it is another kind of wood do the same unless it is painted, then repaint it. If you are referring to an inside finished table, take the advice of the answers before mine.

  3. If it is unpainted, you may want to take a sander and sand off the finish and smooth out the surface. Smell it and see if the beer smell is still there. If it is you may still have to sand it down more. The reason for this is the fact that since you've said surface cleaners are not working, the beer has probably soaked into the wood, which is porous. Once you've sanded it, use a wood finisher to bring the clean look back and use sealer on it. Good as new! Plus doing all this will remove scratches.

  4. the acidity of vinegar will kill any yeast that is soaked in the table, however it has its own bad smell and stains most types of soft wood, but most tables are not made from soft wood so you could be alright
