  1. Nail varnish remover

  2. Soak it again in hot water, as hot as you can leave your hand in (without leaving your hand in!) Give it 5 mins and scrape as much as you can off with the side of a teaspoon. Rub over with a tea towel (NOT YOUR BEST TOWEL)

To get any remaining off - put some metholated spirits (the purple stuff) on a rag or kitchen paper and run until clean.

Wash again thoroughly - babies don't like Meths!!!

  3. BABY OIL AND A GREEN SCOURER!!!!!

  4. if you rub at it with a warm wet flannel the parts should come off... or you could try dishwashing it

  5. squirt some WD40 onto the mark, leave for a couple of minutes and then wipe off. also good for removing price labels from things like glass ware & ornaments.

  6. A little white spirit or meths will do the trick, or, go to www.lakeland.co.uk ( or your nearest Lakeland store), and look for a bottle of 'Sticky Stuff Remover'' Item number; 8976, £3.99.......this is great for all sorts of things....and would just do the job for you!!

  7. It depends on the glue that is used. I had to remove a label recently and tried white spirit, petrol, alcohol ans finally hot water before I succeeded. I think more label gums are water based now.

  8. I usually get remains of labels off with spray polish.  It seems to work well.

  9. Hot soapy water and a scrubbing pad.

  10. Just soak it in hot water and give it a scrub, it should come right off.

  11. Try Goo-Gone.

  12. Avon's Skin-So-Soft is the best there is for something like that.  It has 1000 uses like this.  Spray it on and scrape it with your fingernail, then wash it off with liquid detergent, and it will be gone.

  13. spray on a little hairspray and wipe with a damp cloth.

    works every time!!

  14. l**k it off

  15. After scrubbing in warm, soapy water, nail polish remover will get rid of the last bits of glue. Then rinse it.

  16. Sounds silly, but peanut butter may work.  Something about the oil.  I tried it for a mirror that had sticky residue from a price tag.  It did work.

  17. Goof Off

  18. Hot Soapy water, let itsoak a bit first then it will come off.

  19. rubbing alchol or carborator cleaner works the best they will both dissolve the glue.

  20. You could try using white spirit. It always worked for me.

  21. If warm water and washing up liquid doesn't work, try bicarbonate of soda.  I use it on jam/honey jars that have a stubborn label.  A little of the powder with a damp cloth usually does it.

  22. All glue has a solvent that gets it off it depends what chemical is in it you dont ever know so have to try a variety of solvents methylated spirits sometimes works or white spirit or cellulose thinners  - soaking helps, and scrubbing with a plastic pan scrubber.

be carefull with solvent fumes they can make you feel sickly.Do it by an open window or outside and not near a naked flame.

  23. Oil. Then rub it off with your fingers, not a cloth. Cloth will make it fuzzy. Then wash like normal.
